Our story

It started with one Christmas party for kids in shelters.

In 2012 Glenn Tubb, Ernest Tubb's nephew, asked Krys Midgett if she'd help put on a Christmas party for kids living in homeless shelters.

They called it Santa Claus Is Coming To Town.

What we learned

The biggest need was hiding in plain sight.

The first two years went to the family shelters. It turned out a lot of good people help those families at Christmas.

The kids nobody was reaching belonged to working parents who make just enough to sit above the poverty line, right up until an emergency hits.

So that became the work. We never look at a family's income, we listen to their story, and we come in to save Christmas.

We call ourselves Santa's head elves, we dress like elves, the whole nine yards.

In 2016 Give A Little Christmas became a department of Artists For Community Transformation, Intl., which made us a registered 501(c)(3) and let us help a lot more kids.

Give A Little Nashville

The magazine that pays for Christmas.

Krys started Give A Little Nashville the same year, a magazine about charities and the celebrities who give back to them.

She has a journalism degree from TTU, has worked in the music industry since 2007, and is best known there for her charity events.

The charity took its name from the magazine, and any profit from the magazine's ad sales goes to the kids. The magazine is resting right now, and it's coming back.

This Christmas, the list is still long.
